Neb. Unveils TransCanada XL Pipeline Reroute Assessment

Law360, New York (October 31, 2012, 7:32 PM EDT) -- Nebraska's environmental regulator released a long-awaited draft evaluation Tuesday of TransCanada Corp.'s proposed reroute of the Keystone XL pipeline, signaling the company had addressed many of the environmental concerns that derailed the oil sands project earlier this year.

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality’s 600-page draft report doesn’t make any recommendations or approve any construction, but says TransCanada’s new route for the pipeline avoids environmentally sensitive areas and drinking water sources previously in its path.
