Pharmacy Recalls All Drugs Amid Meningitis Outbreak Probe

Law360, New York (October 31, 2012, 5:44 PM EDT) -- Compounding pharmacy Ameridose LLC will voluntarily recall all of its products in an effort to expand its cooperation with a U.S Food and Drug Administration investigation into an affiliated compounder blamed for a deadly meningitis outbreak, the company announced Wednesday.

The FDA, working with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy, had shut down Westborough, Mass.-based Ameridose to inspect its production facility after tracing the fungal meningitis outbreak back to allegedly tainted drugs prepared by the New England Compounding Center, operated by the same owners as...
