TransCanada Faces Canadian Safety Audit

Law360, New York (November 1, 2012, 4:18 PM EDT) -- A Canadian regulator said Wednesday that it would audit oil pipeline giant TransCanada Corp.’s safety, operational and management standards, after an internal investigation by the company verified a whistleblower’s claims that it had failed to comply with regulations.

According to the National Energy Board’s letter, the regulator will audit all programs, procedures and records for the Canadian operations of the company, as well as five subsidiaries with operations in Canada, to ensure they conform with both national regulations and the company’s internal standards.
