NJ Lawmakers Call For Backup Power At Gas Stations

Law360, New York (November 2, 2012, 6:05 PM EDT) -- With New Jerseyans waiting hours for gasoline in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, lawmakers on Friday proposed measures to equip gas stations with backup generators, while Gov. Chris Christie's administration announced efforts to help bring more gasoline into the state.

Among others, state Sen. Barbara Buono, D-Middlesex, and Assemblywoman Amy Handlin, R-Monmouth, separately called for legislation that would either require or encourage emergency generators at gas stations so those businesses could continue serving consumers following storms such as Hurricane Sandy, which knocked out power to millions...
