Mosaid Sues STMicro, Others Over Semiconductor Patents

Law360, New York (November 6, 2012, 2:03 PM EST) -- Licensing giant Mosaid Technologies Inc. fired off four new patent infringement suits in Texas federal court Monday, accusing STMicroelectronics Inc. and three other semiconductor companies of ripping off a slew of computer processor patents.

Canada-based Mosaid — acquired by private equity firm Sterling Fund Management LLC in a $595 million deal last year — said STMicroelectronics, Xilinx Inc., NXP Semiconductors USA Inc. and ST-Ericsson Inc. had infringed at least five of its patents.
