GOP Campaign Fails To Oust 3 Fla. High Court Justices

Law360, New York (November 7, 2012, 9:36 PM EST) -- Three Florida Supreme Court justices on Tuesday survived a Republican push to unseat the so-called judicial activists, when the state's electorate voted overwhelmingly to retain them.

Sixty-seven percent of Florida voters opted to give Justices R. Fred Lewis, Barbara J. Pariente and Peggy A. Quince new six-year terms despite a campaign led by conservative activists and endorsed by the state's Republican party to unseat the three justices who had been accused of being too extreme.
