Samsung, Apple's Untimely Discovery Sanctions Reduced

Law360, New York (November 8, 2012, 3:30 PM EST) -- A California magistrate judge on Wednesday awarded both Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Apple Inc. reduced monetary sanctions for the companies' failure to produce discovery materials in a timely manner, saying attorneys submitted “bare” descriptions of their roles in the dispute during the run-up to the companies' epic patent trial.
