Staples Pays $38M To Settle FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (November 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Staples Inc. said Monday that it would pay $38 million to settle a wage-and-hour class action lawsuit alleging it misclassified its California-based assistant store managers as exempt from overtime pay.

The settlement, which also includes interest and attorneys' fees, must still win the approval of a judge in the Superior Court for the State of California in the County of Orange. The case was scheduled to go to trial this week.
