CMS Urged Not To Include Diabetic Supplies In Bidding Program

Law360, New York (November 8, 2012, 7:17 PM EST) -- Lawmakers are urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to drop plans to expand the competitive bidding program to include diabetic testing supplies, saying the move would effectively prohibit local pharmacies from delivering the supplies to homebound beneficiaries.

A bipartisan group of representatives wrote to CMS Acting Administrator Marilyn Tavenner on Nov. 2, arguing that the move could hurt beneficiaries' access to critical supplies.
