Financial Firms Beat RealTime's Data Technology Patent Claims

Law360, New York (November 13, 2012, 5:35 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Friday axed software company RealTime Data LLC's claims that a bevy of investment banks, securities exchanges and financial publications infringed its patents on data-compression technology.

U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest's ruling came at the heels of her Thursday decision to let NYSE Euronext and Options Price and Reporting Authority LLC off the hook on some of RealTime Data LLC's patent claims, effectively ending the case at the district level.
