Acacia Settles With Sony Over Audio/Video Equipment Patents

Law360, New York (August 25, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Acacia Research Corporation reached a settlement with Sony Corp. Thursday, ending patent infringement litigation over audio/visual enhancement technology.

The case had been pending in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since October 2004.

The technology at issue is derived from three patents issued to Acacia subsidiary IP Innovations LLC by Nevada-based Technology Licensing.
