Union Trust Blasts Fiat's Offer For Chrysler Shares

Law360, Wilmington (November 13, 2012, 10:08 PM EST) -- A United Auto Workers trust Monday blamed Fiat SpA for souring a deal for a 3.3 percent chunk of Chrysler Group LLC, saying the Italian automaker's proposed purchase price shortchanged the union fund more than $200 million.

Filed in Delaware Chancery Court, the countersuit takes aim at a Sept. 26 complaint from Fiat North America LLC claiming that the UAW's Voluntary Employees Beneficiary Association breached their stock purchase agreement when it failed to honor a July call option for more than 54,000 Chrysler shares.
