Rihanna, Others Slam Pandora Over Proposed Web Royalty Rates

Law360, New York (November 15, 2012, 4:06 PM EST) -- Billy Joel, Rihanna and Roger Waters were among a group of prominent musicians who signed an open letter released Wednesday opposing Pandora Media Inc.'s drive to get a bill passed that would decrease the royalty rates paid by Internet radio companies, saying the measure drastically cuts artists' pay.

The letter was signed by 125 bands and musicians who say the bill — The Internet Radio Fairness Act — would slash by 85 percent the amount artists are paid when their songs are played on Internet radio....
