WTO Approves US Win In Steel Duty Dispute With China

Law360, New York (November 16, 2012, 4:31 PM EST) -- The World Trade Organization has adopted findings that China broke with its international trade commitments when it launched duty investigations into American imports of specialized steel used in transformers and other items, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said Friday.

The trade organization accepted decisions laid out in reports from the WTO Appellate Body and a dispute settlement panel, both of which sided with the U.S.'s challenge to countervailing and anti-dumping duties placed on American-made, grain-oriented, flat-rolled electrical steel, according to a statement from the USTR's office....
