Synthetic Marijuana Banned In NJ

Law360, New York (November 26, 2012, 2:08 PM EST) -- New Jersey permanently has banned all variants of synthetic marijuana because of the drugs’ potentially fatal effects on people, becoming the fourth state to do so, state Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa said Monday.

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs introduced the ban on a temporary basis during February, and the permanent regulation took effect Nov. 19, following a public hearing and public comment period. The temporary order was set to expire later this month, the office of the attorney general said.
