DOJ Defends Obama's Block On Chinese Wind Farm Buy

Law360, Washington (November 28, 2012, 3:28 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice told a federal judge Wednesday that President Barack Obama's decision to nix Chinese-owned Ralls Corp.'s purchase of four Oregon wind farm projects isn't subject to judicial review and that the administration has no obligation to explain its reasoning.

According to the federal government, federal courts cannot review the president's decision to prevent Ralls from purchasing the projects — all of which are located near a U.S. Navy weapons training facility in Boardman, Ore. — thanks to Congress approving the Defense Production Act....
