Former SNC-Lavalin CEO Arrested In Corruption Scandal

Law360, New York (November 28, 2012, 9:53 PM EST) -- The former CEO of Canadian engineering firm SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., Pierre Duhaime, was arrested on fraud and forgery charges after stepping down in March on the day the company announced an internal investigation on $56 million in dubious payments by the company, according to a Quebec anti-corruption unit Wednesday.

Duhaime was arrested at his home by the corruption investigation department of L'Unité Permanente Anticorruption, though the unit did not detail the accusation leveled against him beyond naming the main charges.
