French Court Nixes Continental's Manslaughter Conviction

Law360, New York (November 29, 2012, 4:27 PM EST) -- A French appeals court on Thursday reportedly tossed a jury's finding that Continental Airlines Inc. and one of its mechanics were guilty of manslaughter for the July 2000 Air France Concorde crash that killed 113 people.

Judge Michele Luga overturned the 2010 manslaughter convictions of Continental, which has since merged with United Airlines Inc., and one of its mechanics, finding that, despite mistakes, they were not criminally responsible for the the deaths of those who perished in the crash, according to the Associated Press.
