Carlyle Cuts Stake In Brazilian Insurer Qualicorp To 6%

Law360, New York (November 30, 2012, 3:32 PM EST) -- Private equity titan Carlyle Group LP unloaded about two-thirds of its stake in Brazilian health insurer Grupo Qualicorp SA in a stock sale worth as much as 919.5 million Brazilian reais ($440 million), the benefits provider said late Thursday.

Qualicorp did not comment on the sale in its brief regulatory filing, which said only that a Carlyle unit sold 46 million shares to reduce its interest in the company from 17.47 percent to 5.93 percent.
