Time Warner Can't Ditch TiVo Claims In DVR Patent Fight

Law360, New York (November 30, 2012, 10:34 PM EST) -- A Texas federal judge on Friday refused to throw out TiVo Inc.’s patent infringement claims accusing Time Warner Cable Inc. of distributing Motorola Mobility Inc.’s digital video recording technology in violation of patents owned by TiVo.

The allegations against Time Warner were filed as counterclaims in Motorola’s patent suit against TiVo. The suit was launched in February 2011, alleging that two TiVo DVR patents infringe three patents in Motorola's QIP set-top DVR boxes.
