Onex Puts Up $165M For 50% Stake In Aircraft Manager

Law360, New York (December 3, 2012, 1:30 PM EST) -- Canadian private equity firm Onex Corp. has agreed to buy a 50 percent stake in California-based commercial aircraft management company BBAM LLC for $165 million, Onex announced Monday.

Onex will acquire a 35 percent interest in BBAM — the world's third largest manager of commercial jet aircraft — from the London-based firm's management team. Based in San Francisco, BBAM was a longtime subsidiary of Australian investment and advisory firm Babcock & Brown, which went into liquidation in 2009.
