Contractor, Travelers Face Suit Over Gov't Construction Delays

Law360, New York (December 3, 2012, 5:59 PM EST) -- A now-dissolved government subcontractor and its insurer launched a Florida federal court lawsuit on Monday to recoup $2 million in damages from a general contractor and Travelers Casualty & Surety Co. over costly delays on a $14 million U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs construction contract.

Florida Aluminum and Steel Inc. says it lost about $1.3 million due to Brasfield & Gorrie LLC’s delays and defects on a construction contract for a DVA medical center in Orlando.
