Feds Collect $300M In NJ Civil And Criminal Cases In 2012

Law360, New York (December 6, 2012, 3:48 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors in New Jersey said Thursday that they had collected $300.7 million in criminal and civil action judgments in fiscal 2012, a result of recovery actions for crime victims and two high-profile settlements with a drug distributor and defense contractor.

Of the $300.7 million, $30.8 million were collected in criminal actions and $269.9 million were collected in civil actions, including a $190 million settlement reached in April with wholesale drug distributor McKesson Corp. and an $18.7 million fine against defense contractor Louis Berger Group Inc.,...
