Counterfeit Fendi Bag Seller Says Ripoffs Not Willful

Law360, New York (December 12, 2012, 6:11 PM EST) -- A seller of knockoff Fendi Adele SRL-branded bags asked the Second Circuit on Wednesday to overturn a $10.5 million court decision finding the counterfeiting willful, arguing that it tried to obtain legitimate, so-called grey market Fendi products.

Ashley Reed Trading Inc., a family-owned importer, even spoke with managers at factories that made Fendi goods and believed they were receiving legitimate products, lawyers for the company told a panel of judges at oral arguments.
