NJ's Christie Taps Utilities Regulator, Judge For High Court

Chris Christie on Monday nominated the head of the state's utilities regulator and a Superior Court judge to the state Supreme Court, contending that the selections represent a compromise with Democrats who will weigh their confirmation.

Christie is hoping Robert Hanna, the president of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, and Monmouth County Superior Court Judge David Bauman fare better in the Democratic-controlled state Senate than his previous two nominees, both of whom failed to win approval.
