FERC's Enforcement Power Yields $41.6M In Fines

Law360, New York (November 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has assessed 12 civil penalties totaling $41.6 million since it was granted enforcement powers by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, according to an internal report published Wednesday.

The report, which comes two days before a FERC conference on enforcement policy, disclosed that sanctions have ranged from a $300,000 fine against Anadarko Petroleum Corp. subsidiary MGTC Inc. to a $10 million fine against PacifiCorp.
