Luxury Designer DVF Sues To Halt Discount Perfume Sales

Law360, Wilmington (December 12, 2012, 7:30 PM EST) -- Fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg on Wednesday sued a perfume distributor in Delaware court for allegedly selling her fragrances to discount retailers in violation of a license agreement and sullying her luxury brand in the process.

Paris-based ID Beauty International Distribution LTD is dumping the branded perfumes at Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Overstock.com, while the contract requires the products to be sold first to high-end retailers like Nordstroms, according to a complaint filed in Delaware Chancery Court by the designer’s company, Diane Von Furstenberg Studio LP....
