Apple Faces Patent Suit Over IChat Feature

Law360, New York (November 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Apple Inc.’s Leopard operating system with iChat has become the target of a patent infringement suit by a Newport Beach, Calif.-based patent-holding company.

Digital Background Corp. filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois on Wednesday, claiming that an iChat backdrop component of Apple’s system is infringing its digital alteration patent.
