22 British Phone-Hacking Victims Settle With News Corp.

Law360, New York (December 14, 2012, 3:46 PM EST) -- Twenty-two victims in the News of The World phone-hacking scandal that has rocked the British media landscape reportedly accepted settlements Friday that will end their lawsuits against News Corp.

Those settling include disc jockey Jamie Theakston and some other celebrities, but a “substantial” number of claims are still outstanding against News Corp., according to the BBC, which did not provide further details on the deal.
