Sony Leaves Walker Digital's Patent Case Before ITC

Law360, New York (December 14, 2012, 9:06 PM EST) -- Sony Corp. on Friday bowed out of Walker Digital LLC's lawsuit before the U.S. International Trade Commission accusing the Japanese-based electronics maker of selling Blu-ray disc players that infringe its media interfacing patent.

ITC Administrative Law Judge E. James Gildea signed off on an agreement reached between research and technology development company Walker and consumer electronics giant Sony that ends Sony's involvement in a case that has seen other companies including Toshiba Corp. settle patent infringement allegations.
