NYU Faculty Plans No-Confidence Vote Over Expansion Plan

Law360, New York (December 14, 2012, 5:40 PM EST) -- New York University's largest faculty group voted Thursday to authorize a no-confidence vote for university president John Sexton, joining nearly 40 other departments in criticism of the NYU 2031 Sexton Plan, which aims to expand the campus's footprint by about 2 million square feet.

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences authorized an online vote in response to what opposition group NYU Faculty Against the Sexton Plan calls a pattern of “top-down decision making” that has created a school-wide crisis in faculty governance.
