I say "continues," because last year at this time many believed that this wish would certainly come true with comprehensive privacy legislation in 2012, given that privacy appeared to be one of the few areas with broad bipartisan support. Here we are on the eve of 2013, and no such laws have yet been enacted. Privacy and data collection concerns are not going away.
