Reported Google-FTC Deal May Keep Future Case On The Table

Law360, New York (December 17, 2012, 9:27 PM EST) -- Google Inc. is reportedly nearing a deal to end the Federal Trade Commission's long-running antitrust probe of its search practices by making voluntary changes to its products without a formal court order, a move attorneys said Monday would leave the door open for the government to re-examine the Internet search giant's activities in the future.

The end of the antitrust watchdog's investigation could come as early as this week, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing anonymous sources familiar with the case.
