Shipping Cartel Members Face $7M In Swiss Antitrust Fines

Law360, New York (December 18, 2012, 7:03 PM EST) -- A quartet of European shipping logistics companies have been assessed fines totaling nearly $7 million as penalty for their involvement in a price-fixing cartel for freight forwarding services, Switzerland's antitrust authority announced Tuesday.

The Swiss Competition Commission has hit Agility Logistics International BV, Deutsche Bahn AG, Kuehne + Nagel International AG and Panalpina Welttransport Holding AG with the million-dollar fines as penalty for their participation in a wide-ranging shipping cartel whose members have already been nailed with hundreds of millions of dollars in fines.
