Law360, New York (December 20, 2012, 8:26 PM ET) -- Ohio Gov. John Kasich signed groundbreaking legislation Thursday that will force plaintiffs suing a company over allegedly asbestos-related injuries to divulge any claims they have made with trusts established to compensate asbestos victims.
People with mesothelioma or other injuries allegedly caused by asbestos exposure can sue a company they believe to be liable for the injuries in court. If a company is no longer solvent, a bankruptcy court can set up a trust through which people can submit claims for compensation for asbestos-related injuries.
