MasterCard Sued Over Credit Card Security Features

Law360, New York (September 14, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- MasterCard International Inc. has been sued in federal court for allegedly stealing and patenting credit card security technology developed by a business partner to prevent fraud and credit card scams.

Start-up PrivaSys Inc. sued the credit card giant Monday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The complaint seeks a preliminary and permanent injunction to prevent the company from further disclosure of its trade secrets.
