Nordstrom Boots FLSA Claims In Wage-And-Hour Suits

Law360, New York (December 21, 2012, 7:13 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday trimmed Fair Labor Standards Act claims in two wage-and-hour class actions brought by Nordstrom Inc. salespeople, but allowed their breach of contract and state labor law claims to proceed.

Miller granted Nordstrom's request for summary judgment on the FLSA claims brought by Gina Balasanyan and Nune Nalbandian, who want to represent a nationwide class of Nordstrom salespeople they allege are underpaid because the department store compensates them for time spent on nonsales activities through commissions...
