Senate Confirms DOJ Antitrust Chief, FTC Commissioner

Law360, New York (January 2, 2013, 7:57 PM EST) -- The Senate approved the nominations of Bill Baer to lead the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust enforcement and Joshua Wright to join the Federal Trade Commission earlier this week, paving the way for both antitrust watchdogs to start 2013 at full strength.

After facing a contentious confirmation hearing at the Senate Commerce Committee, Wright was spared a committee vote and approved by the full Senate on Tuesday to take over for departing Republican FTC Commissioner Thomas Rosch.
