America Invents Act Corrections Bill Clears Congress

Law360, New York (January 2, 2013, 8:51 PM EST) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill to make amendments to the America Invents Act, including eliminating so-called "dead zones" during which post-grant review is not available for some patents under the new law, sending the legislation to President Barack Obama for his signature.

The version of the so-called "technical corrections" bill that Congress passed does not include any provisions related to patents that have been pending since a 1995 change to U.S. patent law. An earlier version would have changed the law...
