Cliff Deal Saves Wind Credit, Boosting Projects Beyond 2013

Law360, New York (January 2, 2013, 7:00 PM EST) -- Congress granted the beleaguered wind energy industry a temporary reprieve Tuesday by extending a popular tax credit for one year in its deal to avert the fiscal cliff, but attorneys say a key change in the credit's language could revive development even beyond 2013.

Called the production tax credit, or PTC, the measure now applies to projects that begin construction by the end of the year, where previously it only covered projects that had started delivering power to the grid.
