German Distributor Pays $125M For Houston Chemical Co.

Law360, Houston (January 2, 2013, 3:23 PM EST) -- German chemical giant Brenntag AG picked up Houston-based water treatment additive distributor ALTIVIA Corp. in a deal worth $125 million, adding to its global portfolio of facilities, the companies announced Wednesday.

The deal, which closed Dec. 31, allows ALTIVIA’s distribution arm to join with a global leader and significantly expand its market reach, while strengthening growth opportunities for a chemical manufacturing subsidiary not included in the deal, according to CEO J. Michael Jusbasche.
