Buchanan Ingersoll Escapes Adelphia Malpractice Suits

Law360, New York (January 2, 2013, 6:44 PM EST) -- Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC has settled four malpractice suits arising from multidistrict litigation over alleged artificial inflation of Adelphia Communications Corp.'s debt securities more than a decade ago, according to documents filed Wednesday in New York federal court.

Buchanan settled claims from W.R. Huff Asset Management Co. LLC, hedge fund Appaloosa Management LP and public pension investors in New York and New Jersey accusing the law firm of making inaccurate or misleading statements that obscured an accounting scandal that eventually brought down Adelphia in 2002....
