Del Monte Seeks Leave To Destroy Tainted Pet Food

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- One of the U.S. manufacturers at the center of a sprawling product liability lawsuit over the tainted pet food that allegedly killed scores of animals has asked for permission to destroy the contaminated goods.

On Friday, Del Monte Foods Co. filed an emergency motion to limit how much of the purportedly damaged food it is required to keep, arguing that the company should only be required to retain a statistically representative portion of the product.
