Cos. Sue Google Over Search Engine, Google Earth

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a new lawsuit, two small tech firms are saying that industry giant Google Inc.'s search engine appliance infringes a patent they own together and that its popular application Google Earth infringes another.

The firms, IP Innovation LLC and Technology Licensing Corp., sued Google Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

They brought two counts of willful patent infringement and requested compensatory damages and permanent injunctive relief.
