Ala. Defeat Unlikely To Derail Insurers In Pollution Feuds

Law360, New York (January 3, 2013, 7:51 PM EST) -- Alabama's highest court has sided with the majority of state courts in holding that a carrier's duty to defend was triggered when federal regulators identified Alabama Gas Corp. as being potentially responsible for pollution, but experts say the ruling won't discourage insurers from fighting the hefty defense costs that come with such regulatory determinations in other states.
