House Oversight Committee Shuffles IT, Contracting Panels

Law360, New York (January 3, 2013, 7:21 PM EST) -- The House Oversight Committee has reduced its number of subcommittees from seven to five, folding the subcommittee that previously focused on information technology procurement into a new subcommittee on government efficiency, committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Wednesday.

Rep. John Mica, R-Fla., will head the new Subcommittee on Government Operations, which will combine most of the work previously done by the Subcommittee on Government Organization, Efficiency and Financial Management and the Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and Procurement Reform.
