Leaked NY Report Finds Fracking Doesn't Pose Health Risk

Law360, New York (January 3, 2013, 5:34 PM EST) -- A previously confidential New York state government analysis of potential human health impacts from hydraulic fracturing operations published online Thursday reveals that health officials concluded in February that the controversial drilling technique is safe enough to be conducted in the state.

The 10-month-old report, which was leaked to a handful of media outlets, finds that high-volume hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, poses no significant threat to public health if done within the state's proposed regulatory framework.
