Providers, Insurers Get Grace Period For 2 ACA Rules

Law360, New York (January 4, 2013, 4:23 PM EST) -- Providers, health plans and health care clearinghouses will have an extra three months to comply with two Affordable Care Act operating rules aimed at simplifying certain electronic transactions between providers and insurers, federal health officials said Wednesday.

The ACA called for new operating rules to standardize and streamline a number of electronic transactions covered by the federal health information privacy law, the Health Insurance Portability and Affordability Act.
