High Court To Hear Texas-Okla. Water Compact Battle

Law360, Chicago (January 4, 2013, 6:02 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Friday to hear a Texas water district's suit accusing Oklahoma of violating a multistate compact by passing laws that restrict water exports, a case the district has said could impact water allocation deals across the country.

The high court granted the petition for certiorari lodged by the Tarrant Regional Water District, which is challenging the Tenth Circuit's ruling against it in the suit it lodged against members of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and Oklahoma Water Conservation Storage Commission in 2007....
