Abbott Ordered To Produce Redacted LifeScan Deal

Law360, New York (November 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Dealing a blow to Abbott Laboratories, a federal judge is forcing the pharmaceutical company to turn over portions of its settlement agreement with LifeScan Inc. to the defendants in Abbott’s patent infringement case over glucose testing technology.

Judge Martin J. Jenkins ruled Monday that a magistrate judge erred in his Aug. 3 decision by finding that the 2003 deal was not relevant to this dispute even though both involved the same glucose testing patent and both allowed Abbott to keep the agreement under wraps.
